MOVIE TRIVIA
EON productions was started by Albert R. Broccoli and Harry Saltzman to produce Bond movies. EON stands for Everything Or Nothing. They later formed another production company called Danjaq to make films. (The name? From Dana Broccoli and Jacqueline Saltzman, their spouses). It was Saltzman who acquired the film rights from Ian Fleming but could not find any investors. Broccoli simultaneously was trying to obtain rights for the stories. When he learnt that the rights were with Saltzman, he proposed to buy them, but Saltzman refused to consider anything but a deal in which both men would co-produce the films. Fleming received $100,000 per film and 5% of the producer's cut. And that's how it all came to be.
